We are looking for someone that combines technical knowledge and research skills, passionate about building cloud native applications that scale to process millions of events per second, while providing low-latency and fault-tolerance guarantees.

Your Day to Day:

• Be hands-on, executing the full software development life cycle and writing well-designed and testable code
  Productionize state-of-the-art research work on topics including Data Processing, Machine Learning, Graphs, etc
  Communicate findings and results to internal and external stakeholders, including writing scientific papers and patents
  Design and development new Cloud Native services, with particular focus on Data and ML Infrastructure

You Have & You Know-how: 

• BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, or a similar technical degree 
• 2+ years of experience in developing backend services
• Good understanding of distributed systems, multi-threading and OO design principles
• Strong programming skills, preferable in Java (or any JVM language) and Python
• Ability and interest to digest and implement state-of-art research
• Ability to communicate your findings in a clear way, transforming innovation research onto product requirements
• Preferable knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark, Kafka and EMR/Dataflow
• Preferable knowledge of workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Flyte

The Science Team works from within to disrupt the business with Data Science and Research. We work with state-of-the-art machine learning systems, publish papers, patent products, continuously create and develop new state-of-the-art techniques/products, and bring them into the product team with innovation transfers. 

We think two years ahead, and we ask ourselves: How many clients will we have in one year? How will our platform perform going from 100 to 1000 clients? By thinking in faraway scales and working complex problems, we’re empowered to spark change every day, influencing the trajectory of our company and ourselves.

We have four groups within the Science Team. 

• Machine Learning - Working for better detection, better algorithms, and the automation of everything.
• Fate - Fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics to create unbiased models that detect bias and mitigate those models. 
• Data Visualization - With the overwhelming amount of produced data, we identify better ways to show information and improve our product. 
• Systems Research - Using computer metrics to enhance and create new products like the Feedzai Genome, which handles up to 50x more events.
